Man Floods Jail After Whataburger Altercation

An incident at a Northeast Texas Whataburger resulted in a man's arrest and subsequent charges, including criminal mischief for flooding a jail.
The man, identified as Anthony William Newhuis, 41, was initially asked to leave the restaurant for verbally abusing staff.
He reportedly threatened to return and assault the manager once police departed. Newhuis later returned, assaulted the manager, and was struck with a trash can by the manager in a video recorded confrontation.
Arriving officers found Newhuis bleeding in the parking lot. After receiving medical treatment, he was taken to the city jail, where he proceeded to intentionally flood the cells, leading to additional charges.
