Social media personality Keith Castillo, known as 'povwolfy,' has drawn widespread criticism for distributing 18-inch machetes and alcohol to homeless individuals across multiple U.S. cities. Videos documenting this controversial act, which took place in Austin, New Orleans, and Little Rock over Thanksgiving, have garnered millions of views online. Castillo stated he purchased the stainless steel machetes for under $5 each and believes they will help keep the homeless population safe, claiming he consulted local police who allegedly found no illegality.

Despite Castillo's assertions of good intentions and his plan to continue similar giveaways in Las Vegas and New York City, including small bottles of cinnamon whisky, the public response has been largely negative. Critics, including former law enforcement officials, have expressed serious concerns about the inherent dangers of providing weapons and alcohol simultaneously to vulnerable individuals.
