Ludhiana: Following extensive persuasion of his family, an autopsy was conducted five days after the murder of Harjinder Singh, alias Harry. The report detailed horrific injuries, including two bullet wounds, fractures to both legs and an arm, and blunt force trauma to the head and abdomen. One bullet's path through his stomach caused fatal damage to internal organs.
Harjinder was intercepted by car-borne assailants in Swatantra Nagar after a dinner outing with friends. Despite collapsing from gunshot wounds, the attackers allegedly continued to assault him with a sharp weapon. CCTV footage captured the incident. Police have registered a murder case against seven individuals, with two, Ravi Kumar and Mohit, already arrested. A jail inmate was brought in for questioning as his car was allegedly used by the assailants.
Investigations suggest the motive behind the murder was a dispute over drug money. Harjinder himself had prior cases under the NDPS Act and Arms Act. Main accused Ravi Kumar reportedly has links to cross-border drug and weapons smugglers, a connection police believe was forged during a previous jail term.
