Lower Yoder Township officials have confirmed an ongoing criminal investigation into the alleged misappropriation of approximately $50,000 in taxpayer funds. The discovery was made during an external audit conducted in February of last year for the 2025 fiscal year.
Following the identification of financial discrepancies, the township's treasurer initiated a review. Subsequently, the board of supervisors retained a forensic auditor, whose findings indicated that funds had indeed been misappropriated. The supervisors immediately contacted law enforcement, and the West Hills Regional Police Department is now leading the investigation.
Due to the active nature of the criminal inquiry, specific names and personnel details cannot be disclosed at this time. Township Chairman Al Grandinetti stated that they are fully cooperating with the police and will provide updates as soon as legally permissible. He reassured residents that township projects and operations are continuing to ensure essential services remain unaffected.
