Lover Beaten to Death by Girlfriend's Family

In a shocking incident in Azamgarh district, a 21-year-old man, Irdu, was murdered by his girlfriend's father and brother after he visited her. The perpetrators, identified as Umashankar and his son Vipin Kumar, allegedly stabbed Irdu and subsequently dumped his body in a local pond. The grim discovery followed a desperate midnight call from the girlfriend to Irdu's mother, warning that her family would kill him.

Alerted by the distressed call and a missing person report filed by Irdu's brother, police investigations led to the swift arrest of the father and son. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime, revealing the location of Irdu's body. Divers were deployed to recover the remains from the pond, which were then sent for a postmortem examination.

This tragic event echoes a similar incident on November 14th, where another young man was beaten to death in the Pawai police station area after visiting his girlfriend. The police have since apprehended one suspect in that case following a police encounter. The investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
