Santiago Martínez, a former contestant on the Netflix dating series Love Is Blind: Argentina, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. A court convicted him of attempted murder, repeated assault, and unlawful detention concerning his ex-wife, Emily Ceco.
The couple met and became engaged on the show before marrying in a civil ceremony in 2024. Ceco filed a formal complaint against Martínez in February 2025, alleging gender-based violence and detailing physical and verbal abuse.
During the trial, Ceco described her terror facing her abuser in court, stating he apologized and claimed he still loved her. Following the sentencing, she expressed a desire for 15 years of peace and hoped the justice system would continue to protect her and her family.
Martínez acknowledged his violence but denied attempting to kill Ceco, asserting the injuries were minor and she was never in danger. He maintained that claims of manipulation and control were false. The court ultimately ruled in favor of the prosecution and Ceco's account.
