In Trichy, an 84-year-old woman, V Suseela, experienced a distressing incident when her five-sovereign gold chain was inadvertently disposed of with waste. The gold chain had been placed among flowers and garlands in her puja room for Saraswati puja. Unaware of its presence, family members removed the puja items for waste collection.
Sanitary workers collected the waste from Suseela's residence on Wednesday morning. About thirty minutes later, the family discovered the gold chain was missing and had been discarded. They managed to trace the waste collection truck near the Srirangam temple.
