London Teen Charged in Hackney Stabbing Death

A 16-year-old has been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a 15-year-old boy in London. The incident occurred on Monday evening in Hackney, where police responded to reports of a large gathering and disorder. Officers found the victim, identified as Brayan David Saldarriaga, with stab wounds in Poplar Close. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teenager charged, who cannot be named due to his age, also faces a charge for possession of a bladed article. He is scheduled to appear in court on Saturday. Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card stated that the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information, particularly mobile phone footage of the gathering and incident, to contact the police. The victim's family is being supported by specialist officers and has requested privacy.
