25 Mar
Summary
- Two men arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
- Four Hatzola ambulances were set ablaze in Golders Green.
- Incident treated as an antisemitic hate crime by police.

Two men, aged 47 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life following the torching of four Jewish charity-owned ambulances in Golders Green, north London. The incident, which took place in the early hours of Monday, is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime.
Commander Helen Flanagan stated that the arrests represent an important breakthrough, but evidence suggests at least three people were involved. The Metropolitan Police are actively working to identify and arrest all individuals involved. Counter-terrorism policing London is leading the investigation, exploring potential links to an Islamist group with alleged ties to Iran.
Hatzola, the Jewish-led non-profit provider of free emergency medical response, had three of its five ambulances completely destroyed and another damaged. The explosions from gas canisters on board the vehicles shattered nearby windows, prompting the evacuation of some residents. Four replacement ambulances have since been provided by the government.
