An accused, G Suresh, has surrendered to the special investigation team (SIT) in connection with the Krishna Lanka police station lock-up death. Suresh, a close associate of suspended circle inspector SSV Nagaraju, provided details about the interrogation of Gade Sai Krishna on May 7. He stated that Nagaraju, along with head constables Nani and Ashok, tortured Sai Krishna.
Suresh recounted meeting Nagaraju again on May 12, where he was taken to an abandoned building. There, he found Sai Krishna in a severely weakened state, allegedly moved from the station to avoid detection. Nagaraju reportedly claimed Sai Krishna was under their supervision and would be sent home once better.
According to the SIT's remand report, Sai Krishna told Suresh he was being beaten with the intent to kill him. Sai Krishna subsequently collapsed and died. The report details the alleged disposal of the body on the night of May 12-13, involving transportation on a motorcycle and cremation at Krishna Lanka crematorium by Nagaraju, Ashok, and Suresh.
Further allegations include Suresh returning to the cremation site on May 18 to check for remains. Head constable Satyanarayana is also accused of deleting photographs of Sai Krishna while in custody, acting on Nagaraju's orders. The SIT filed its remand report before the trial court on Friday.
