Lil Durk Lawyers Call New Charges 'Pathetic Pivot'
5 Jun
Summary
- Durk's legal team calls the new racketeering charge a weak, recycled accusation.
- Prosecutors added two counts, including murder in aid of racketeering.
- The rapper maintains his innocence against all indictments.

The legal team for rapper Lil Durk has strongly criticized a new racketeering indictment, labeling it a "pathetic pivot" and a "lipstick on a pig" tactic by prosecutors. This new charge comes nearly two years into a murder-for-hire case and just two months before the scheduled trial.
In court documents filed on Wednesday (June 3), federal prosecutors alleged that Durk and co-defendants were part of a criminal organization involved in murder, attempted murder, robbery, and drug trafficking. As a result, two counts have been added against Durk, including murder in aid of racketeering.
Durk's lawyers, in a statement shared on Thursday evening (June 4), expressed their client's unwavering innocence, stating, "Durk Banks is innocent, no matter how many indictments they want to throw at him." They view the new indictment not as a sign of strength, but as an "acknowledgment of weakness" from the prosecution.
