Lil Durk Trial: Jury May See More Interview Clips

In the ongoing murder-for-hire trial of rapper Lil Durk, his defense team has requested that jurors be allowed to view additional segments of a 2023 interview. This appeal was made during the jury's deliberation period on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Attorneys argued that prosecutors misrepresented the interview's content during their rebuttal closing argument. They contend that specific clips used by the prosecution were misleading, potentially influencing the jury's perception of Lil Durk's involvement in the August 2022 murder of Saviay'a 'Lul Pab' Robinson.

The defense had previously sought to introduce these segments on August 31, 2026, but the court denied that request. The disputed portions of the interview reportedly show Durk distancing himself from retaliatory actions and expressing a desire to "turn hate into love."

If the judge declines to admit the full interview segments, the defense has proposed a curative instruction. This would remind the jury that a verdict should not be based on incomplete statements presented by the government. The prosecution opposes both requests.

The jury has since sent a note to Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald requesting evidence in digital format. The defense has called for an immediate hearing to address these matters while deliberations are still underway.
