Lil Durk Acquitted of Murder-for-Hire Charges

A Los Angeles federal jury has found Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk not guilty of murder-for-hire, conspiracy, and stalking charges. The case stemmed from the 2022 death of rapper Quando Rondo's cousin in Los Angeles. Prosecutors contended that Durk orchestrated the killing as retaliation for the earlier death of his friend, King Von. They alleged that hitmen, who were targeting Quando Rondo, instead fatally shot his cousin, Saviay'a Robinson, at the Beverly Center mall.

Durk's former assistant and two admitted shooters testified against him, but his defense team dismissed them as unreliable "snitches" seeking lighter sentences. Two other individuals, Deandre Wilson and David Lindsey, were on trial alongside Durk. They were convicted of conspiracy to commit stalking and stalking resulting in death but were acquitted of the murder-for-hire charges.

The incident that allegedly triggered the revenge plot occurred in Atlanta in 2020, when King Von was fatally shot after a confrontation with Quando Rondo. The trial attracted significant media attention, with celebrity supporters like Kanye West and MGK attending.
