In a Sasaram court, a woman named Sita Devi has received a life sentence for the murder of a seven-year-old boy. The crime occurred on November 5, 2020, in Naudih village. The additional district and sessions judge found Devi guilty of calling the child to her home, restraining him, and then killing him by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.
The court imposed a rigorous life imprisonment sentence along with a fine of Rs 20,000. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional two months of imprisonment. The prosecution successfully presented witness testimonies and material evidence to secure the conviction.
In a separate ruling, another judge awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment to Dadan Chaurasia for a murder that took place on February 17, 2020, in Shivpur village, stemming from a house construction dispute.
