Justice for Sammie-Jo: Killer Sentenced to Life

A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 17 years for the murder of Samantha, affectionately known as Sammie-Jo. Her family has stated that justice has been achieved, describing her as a kind, loving daughter, sister, and mother. They expressed gratitude to Hampshire Police for their work in securing this conviction.

Samantha had concerns for her safety, leading her to invoke Clare's Law. This legal provision allows individuals to inquire with police about a partner's history of violence and abuse. The fatal incident occurred on June 5, 2025, after Jeans and Samantha had been at a pub. A neighbour reported hearing shouting and screaming from the residence that night. Jeans sent a text to his mother stating he would go to prison, and doorbell footage showed him leaving the victim's home before going into hiding for four days.

The convicted man has been diagnosed with autism and emotional unstable personality disorder. He claimed to have no memory of the events leading to the attack, stating he suddenly realized he was strangling Samantha when they fell onto a sofa. Hampshire Police acknowledged the tragic loss, emphasizing that no sentence can fully compensate for murder.
