In Barabanki, Additional District Judge Parshuram has handed down a life sentence to Naseem, 25, for the murder of a 21-year-old woman. The conviction, dated 2026-10-06T20:12:57+00:00, relates to an incident that occurred nearly seven years prior.
The court found Naseem guilty of murder, conspiracy, and kidnapping with intent to murder, levying a fine of Rs 1.40 lakh. The case dates back to April 22, 2019, when the accused allegedly killed the woman following a dispute concerning his arranged marriage.
The victim's father reported her missing on April 23, 2019. She had left home that day, stating she was going to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow. Attempts to contact her later that evening were unsuccessful.
Evidence suggested Naseem had a romantic relationship with the victim. When his marriage was arranged with another party, the victim objected, leading to conflict. Naseem confessed to strangling her on the night of April 22, 2019, and disposing of her body in a well.
