LAX Workers Caught With 24 Pounds of Fentanyl
25 Aug
Summary
- Two men arrested attempting to transfer over 24 pounds of fentanyl.
- A duffel bag contained approximately 11 kilograms of fentanyl.
- The drugs were intended for a flight to Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Federal authorities have charged two men, including a 24-year-old Los Angeles International Airport employee, in connection with a large fentanyl seizure. Miguel Angel Tuz-Noh, who works for a service provider at LAX, and Anthony Olvera, both residents of Lennox, were arrested on August 19.
Investigators observed the two attempting to exchange narcotics inside a men's bathroom at one of the airport's terminals. A subsequent search of a duffel bag carried by Olvera revealed approximately 11 kilograms, or 24.3 pounds, of fentanyl, packaged in brick-shaped quantities and labeled "Rolex."
Prosecutors believe the seized fentanyl was part of a plan to transport the drugs onto a flight bound for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Tuz-Noh is suspected of having ties to a drug trafficking organization, while Olvera allegedly agreed to transport the narcotics.
Both men made their initial court appearances on August 21 and were released on a $10,000 bond. Their arraignments are scheduled for September 17. If convicted, they face a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in federal prison.
