Laura Woods, a 38-year-old TNT Sports presenter, has bravely recounted a disturbing two-year stalking experience orchestrated by an obsessed football fan, Harneet Kaur. The relentless harassment campaign, which began in June 2021 and concluded in September 2023, instilled profound fear in Woods. Kaur's actions included sending birthday cards with chilling death threats and even a video of Woods's home, raising fears of a physical intrusion.
Further escalating the terror, Kaur threatened to kidnap and kill Woods's beloved dog and sent unsolicited items to her house, such as dating website information and a sexual health kit. The fan, who identified as a Liverpool supporter and went by the online alias 'Krazy Harns,' even attempted to contact Woods while she was on air covering a fight in Poland. This continuous barrage of intimidation and invasion of privacy left Woods feeling utterly vulnerable.
In February of the previous year, Harneet Kaur was sentenced to 14 months in prison and received a restraining order, prohibiting contact with Woods and 14 other individuals, as well as restricting her from approaching Woods's residence. Kaur's defense cited autism as a contributing factor to her obsessive behavior. The court heard how Woods was forced to enhance security measures at both her home and workplace due to the intense fear instilled by the stalking.
