A Las Vegas woman, Haleigh Knight, has pleaded guilty to a felony theft charge after allegedly defrauding friends and family. She is accused of scamming a longtime friend, Cydney Fink, out of $20,000 by presenting a fraudulent opportunity for travel content creation with the Four Seasons. Knight claimed that Fink and her family would be reimbursed and paid upon arrival, but the trips never materialized.
Concurrently, Knight reportedly convinced multiple individuals that she was suffering from pancreatic cancer, even sharing fake treatment details on TikTok. Court documents revealed Knight admitted to faking the diagnosis to elicit sympathy and affection from her family and friends. She also confessed to posing as a representative named Beatrice to manage trip cancellations.
Another victim, Rachel Riedel, who previously employed Knight, stated Knight had offered exclusive influencer discounts on luxury items. Riedel sent money for a Rolex, after which Knight stopped coming to work. Investigations by victims confirmed Knight had no record of treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she claimed to be receiving care.
Knight is scheduled for sentencing on June 24th and faces one to five years in prison for the felony theft charge under Nevada law. Her plea agreement mandates restitution of $19,787.12. If she fulfills probation and repayment terms, she may be allowed to withdraw her plea for a misdemeanor conviction.
