LA Trash House Piles Up Again, Bugs Swarm Property
7 Oct
Summary
- The infamous Los Angeles 'trash house' is once again buried in garbage.
- Witnesses report bugs swarming the property due to the accumulating trash.
- City crews previously removed seven tons of debris in April 2024.
The infamous "trash house" in Los Angeles' Fairfax District has once again become overwhelmed with garbage. Recent photographs display the property's front yard completely filled with trash, litter, old furniture, and boxes, with the piles extending towards the sidewalk.
Witnesses observing the situation have noted a significant increase in flying bugs due to the accumulating waste. This is a recurring issue for the property, as city crews previously removed approximately seven tons of debris in April 2024, citing critical health and safety hazards.
Last year, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass expressed disappointment at the property's repeated deterioration, labeling it a hazard. An open criminal case involving the property owner was also active at that time. A friend of the homeowner had previously defended the trash piles, asserting the 72-year-old owner is a recycler selling items to recycling centers, not a hoarder.
