- The killing is believed to be linked to an old rivalry and existing tensions.
A fatal shooting in Kurla West has resulted in the death of a 39-year-old man, Baba Malappa Pawar, on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 9:45 PM near his residence in Makadwala Compound, Halav Pool.
According to police, Pawar was attacked with a sharp weapon and shot twice before the assailants fled. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital but was declared dead upon arrival. Vinobha Bhave Nagar police have arrested Abhijit Jadhav, Shubham Ghadge, and Dinesh Pawar.
Authorities are investigating a potential link to an old rivalry, as Pawar had a criminal past, including a murder case from which he was acquitted. Police are searching for Narayan Pawar, Rupesh Pawar, and Guddu Pawar, who are believed to be involved.
The Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting a parallel investigation into the murder, which appears connected to brewing tensions between two local groups. A separate assault case was registered earlier in April after Pawar's nephew was attacked.
