An 18-year-old youth, Bhuvnesh Nagara, was fatally stabbed in Kota late on Monday night. The attack occurred in Pandit Deendayal Nagar, an area within the Anantpura police station limits. Police stated that the violent incident was rooted in a past rivalry.
Nagara, a resident of Talwandi, was reportedly visiting friends when five assailants on two motorcycles ambushed him. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers surrounded him and used knives, inflicting severe injuries, particularly to his thigh, which led to fatal blood loss.
He was transported to Medical College New Hospital by bystanders, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. The Anantpura police station has registered a murder case against five identified accused: Rahul alias Baccha, Sagar, Deepu Panda, and two unknown accomplices. All accused are known to have prior criminal records.
Investigators linked the killing to a March 2026 incident where Bhuvnesh allegedly attacked Rahul with a knife. Bhuvnesh, a juvenile at the time, was sent to a remand home. Police believe Rahul and his associates were seeking an opportunity for retaliation and targeted Bhuvnesh upon learning of his presence in the area.
The victim's family identified him as a first-year BTech student. Preliminary findings suggest Bhuvnesh also had multiple pending criminal cases registered against him at various police stations.
