In Kolkata, a 38-year-old woman, Sarbani Das, has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of her 48-year-old husband, Ashok Kumar Das. The victim was found deceased with multiple stab wounds at their residence on Sashi Bhushan Dey Street. Police are investigating the incident, which is suspected to have occurred late Tuesday night.
Investigators revealed that a property dispute between the couple may have precipitated the fatal altercation. The victim reportedly returned home to retrieve documents and engaged in an argument with his wife, during which a kitchen knife was allegedly used. The incident has led to a homicide case being registered.
Evidence gathered includes CCTV footage showing the victim entering the house unharmed and the recovery of a blood-stained knife from under the bed. Autopsy results confirmed a fatal stab wound consistent with a sharp-edged weapon. The couple's teenage son was also present at the home during the time of the incident.
