Two young kittens are on the road to recovery following a shocking incident of animal cruelty in St. Louis. A concerned citizen spotted a duffel bag being thrown from a moving pickup truck on Manchester Road.
Her immediate investigation revealed two 5-month-old kittens inside the bag, distressed and covered in a chemical substance identified as likely bleach. The good Samaritan promptly transported the animals to the Humane Society of Missouri's headquarters for urgent veterinary attention.
Veterinary teams worked quickly to clean the kittens and assess them for injuries. They are currently stable but underweight. The Humane Society emphasized the crucial role of the bystander's intervention in ensuring the kittens' safety and their chance at a future life.
Further steps include the kittens gaining sufficient weight, undergoing spay surgery, and then becoming available for adoption. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information regarding the pickup truck seen throwing the bag.
