Kiefer Sutherland was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of making criminal threats and assaulting a ride-hail driver. Los Angeles police responded to the incident shortly after midnight, determining that Sutherland had physically assaulted the driver within the vehicle. Fortunately, the driver did not require medical attention.
Following his arrest, Sutherland was processed and released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for February 2. Representatives for the actor have not yet responded to requests for comment.
This is not Sutherland's first brush with the law, having prior alcohol-related arrests, including a drunken driving charge in 2007. The British-born Canadian actor is widely recognized for his iconic role as Jack Bauer in the acclaimed Fox television series "24."
