10 Feb
Summary
- Kidnapping case registered against 13 individuals in Tirupati.
- Allegations involve an actor, university officials, and a student leader.
- Separate cases filed by both parties involved in the dispute.

In Tirupati, a kidnapping case has been registered against thirteen individuals, notably including actor Mohan Babu and the public relations officer of Mohan Babu University. This legal action stems from an incident that occurred in Tiruchanur, Tirupati district, on February 3.
The complaint was filed by Akbar, a leader with the Students' Federation of India (SFI). Tiruchanur police have invoked serious charges such as kidnapping, criminal conspiracy, and assault against the accused.
In a parallel development, the university's PRO filed a counter-complaint. This complaint alleges that student union leaders disseminated false information on social media with the intent to damage the institution's reputation. The PRO also claimed that these leaders demanded money from the university management. Acting on this counter-complaint, Chandragiri police have registered a separate case against Akbar and other student leaders.
