Kamiyah Mobley, abducted as a newborn from a Florida hospital in 1998, has learned the man she believed to be her father, Charles Jamie Manigo, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Manigo was convicted of armed robbery after threatening a former coworker over a $40 debt in January 2019. This sentencing follows that of Gloria Williams, Mobley's kidnapper, who received 18 years in 2018. Mobley discovered Williams' abduction in 2017 after 18 years of being raised under a false identity.
Manigo, who raised Mobley and Williams, claimed he was unaware of the abduction and that Williams had lied about Mobley's origins. He stated they named her Alexis Kelly Manigo and even shared custody after splitting in 2003. However, Mobley has previously disputed Manigo's involvement, calling him an absent father. Williams posed as a nurse at University Medical Center in Jacksonville to take the infant from her biological mother, Shanara Mobley, who was only 16 at the time.
