On October 12, 2025, the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) arrested a key accused in the murder of liquor contractor Shantanu. Harneet Bhatia, a 23-year-old BA student, was apprehended at the Mumbai airport while attempting to flee to Dubai, just a day after being detained by the authorities.
The arrest comes four months after Shantanu, a liquor contractor from Mattan village in Jhajjar district, was shot dead on the evening of June 13, 2021, by two men, including the state's wanted gangster Romil Vohra, at Meena Market in Shahabad. Bhatia, who is from Uncha Chandana village in Yamunanagar, had provided two 32-bore pistols and a vehicle used in the crime to Vohra, following the instructions of UK-based gangster Badal.
