In Kerala's Palakkad, a court convicted a 61-year-old man on Monday for the 2025 Nenmara double murder. The accused, Chenthamara, was found guilty of murdering a woman and her son. This verdict comes after his prior conviction for the 2019 murder of Sajitha, his wife, whom he reportedly held responsible for his marital problems.
Chenthamara received a double life sentence for Sajitha's murder and was released on bail in January 2025. Shortly after his release, he allegedly committed the murders of Sudhakaran and his mother, Lakshmi. The prosecution presented 81 witnesses and 28 material objects during the trial. The victims' daughters have appealed for the death penalty, expressing continued fear and demanding justice fitting the crimes.
