Kate Major Faces Charges After Alleged Michael Lohan Altercation

Kate Major, Lindsay Lohan's stepmother, was arrested on Tuesday, April 15, 2026, following an alleged altercation with her estranged husband, Michael Lohan. Court documents state Michael claimed Major threw a knife at him and struck him in the face, causing a bloody nose. The incident occurred at the family's Spring, Texas home during a custody exchange for their two sons, Landon, 13, and Logan, 11.

Major, 43, appeared in court on Thursday, April 17, 2026, for her arraignment. Her attorney informed the judge that a protective order barring contact with Michael has jeopardized her housing situation, potentially leaving her homeless. The lawyer also highlighted Major's unemployment and financial difficulties, suggesting she might require shelter.

The judge set Major's bond at $35,000 and imposed strict release conditions, including no contact with Michael Lohan, and prohibitions on alcohol, drugs, and weapons. This latest arrest is one of eight for Major over the past 15 years. In February 2025, she had previously accused Michael of assault, leading to his arrest and subsequent jail time until October 2025.
