A false bomb threat disrupted services on the Gorakhpur-Mumbai Kashi Express in Mau district, triggering a high alert among railway and local police. The train was stopped at Mau railway station on Tuesday, leading to an immediate and comprehensive search by police and the Bomb Disposal Squad.
Senior officials, including the Mau SP, were present at the station as platform number one was cordoned off. All passengers were safely deboarded and escorted away while security personnel meticulously checked the train's coaches. The search, which lasted approximately two hours, included an examination of a suspicious unattended bag, though no explosive materials were ultimately found.
Following the thorough security sweep of the train and station premises, passengers were permitted to re-board under strict supervision. The SP confirmed that nothing suspicious was discovered and that all other trains and areas around the station also underwent checks. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the person responsible for making the hoax call.
