A disturbing trend of misconduct within Karnataka's police department has led to a significant erosion of public trust. In the initial eleven months of this year, a total of 236 police personnel faced suspension, with Bengaluru city alone accounting for more than half of these disciplinary actions. The scale of the issue is further highlighted by the fact that 42 officers across the state are currently involved in criminal proceedings for offenses ranging from dacoity and robbery to kidnapping and extortion.
