Mother's Shock as Child Abuse Charges Surface

Tyne Blunt, 27, a Kansas mother, exhibited a pronounced physical response during a court appearance on Wednesday, December 17. As the judge read the charges of first-degree murder and two counts of child abuse related to her son Tiuri Blunt-Porrata's death, Blunt gasped for air and clutched her chest.
Wichita Police discovered four-year-old Tiuri unresponsive in Blunt's apartment on December 8 and he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Daniel Martin, 34, is also in custody, facing charges of felony murder and child abuse for his alleged role.
Blunt is being held on a $750,000 bond and is due back in court on December 29. Tiuri's father, Nathaniel Porrata, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for his son's funeral, expressing profound grief over the sudden loss.
