Kanpur Youth Critically Injured in Brutal Medical Store Attack

On the night of October 21st, 2025, a violent clash broke out between two groups in Kanpur's Keshavpuram area, leaving a youth named Abhijeet seriously injured. Abhijeet, a private employee and LLB student, had gone out to purchase medicine for his mother when he got into a dispute with medical store operators Vijay Singh and Amar Singh.

Abhijeet's father, Anil Singh, claimed that the medical store owners began abusing and assaulting his son. Two others who were nearby also joined in, beating Abhijeet with sticks and rods. Vijay Singh then seized a cleaver from the store and viciously attacked Abhijeet, severing his thumb and causing severe head injuries. As Abhijeet tried to escape, the assailants surrounded him and fatally assaulted his abdomen multiple times with the cleaver, leaving him in critical condition.

Relatives rushed Abhijeet to a private hospital, where his condition remains critical as of October 26th, 2025. Police, responding to a call, also recovered a pistol from a parked car at the scene. A new case has been filed following a complaint from the injured party, leading to the arrest of three accused individuals.
