In Kanpur's Maharajpur area, a 14-year-old boy's death was confirmed as strangulation following a postmortem examination conducted on Saturday. The incident occurred two days prior when the teenager allegedly confronted his mother and her partner in their home.
Police have taken the mother into custody and are actively seeking her alleged lover. Authorities state the boy's objection to finding the couple together at approximately 9 pm on Thursday led to an assault and his subsequent death. His younger brother, who witnessed the event, was reportedly frightened and fled to another room.
The mother is accused of attempting to conceal the crime by telling villagers her son died of stomach pain. The younger brother initially repeated this version under his mother's instruction. However, villagers noticed suspicious injury marks on the deceased boy's neck and face, prompting them to alert the police.
A forensic team collected evidence from the residence, and the body was sent for examination. Villagers reported that the alleged partner attempted suicide by hanging after returning to his own home, but was rescued by family members before fleeing. The boy's father, who works in Gujarat, arrived in Kanpur on Friday evening. Further legal action is pending his formal complaint.
