Kanpur Man Strangles Wife Over Alleged Infidelity

In Kanpur, a 22-year-old man, Sachin Singh, surrendered to police on Saturday morning after allegedly strangling his wife, Shweta Singh, 19. The couple had married for love in August of the previous year, defying family objections. Singh, who works as a driver, resided with his wife in a rented room in the Ruma area.
Singh told investigators that on the night of January 16-17, he returned home late and found his wife with two young men. An argument ensued, which he claimed escalated when his wife threatened him. He confessed to strangling her around 3 am on Saturday.
Police have taken Singh into custody for interrogation and informed the victim's family. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities will proceed based on the complaint filed.
