In Kanpur Dehat, Devkinandan Paswan, 50, succumbed to injuries late Sunday night following a severe assault. His wife, Mamta, is in critical condition after the attack, which occurred in Bannapur under the Shivli police station area. The incident reportedly stemmed from an altercation with a school watchman named Govind and his wife, Sangam.

Paswan's daughter stated that Govind frequently abused their family. When her father intervened on Sunday evening, Govind and his wife attacked the couple. The situation escalated when Gomti, with others, allegedly attacked them again with weapons. Paswan was taken to Lala Lajpat Rai hospital where he was pronounced dead.
