Kanpur Girl Raped, Murdered: Neighbor Suspected

Tragedy struck a village in Kanpur's Bidhnu police station limits on Tuesday morning with the discovery of an 11-year-old girl's body. The Class V student had reportedly gone to graze goats on Monday evening and failed to return. After an extensive search by her family and authorities overnight, villagers noticed disturbed soil in a nearby wheat field. Upon investigation, they unearthed the girl's body, found unclad and bearing injury marks.

Family members have accused a neighbor of raping and murdering the child before burying her in a shallow pit. Enraged villagers gathered around the suspect's house, attempting to set it ablaze, prompting police to cordon off the area. A forensic team, along with police officials, has gathered evidence from the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the exact cause of death and confirm allegations of sexual assault. Based on the family's suspicions, a local man has been taken into custody for questioning as the investigation proceeds.
