The wife reported being molested and threatened with gang rape by the accused, identified as Harshvardhan, Vikrant Agnihotri, and Abhishek Tripathi. She alleged that the men also smashed their car's windshield. The couple claimed police initially ignored their complaint, with action taken only after escalating the matter to higher authorities.
Video footage of the assault and car damage went viral, leading to the swift arrest of the three accused individuals. They have since been sent to jail. The couple's family alleged that police had also issued a challan against the complainants for breach of peace.
