Wife Accused of Poisoning Hubby & In-Laws

In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a chartered accountant has accused his wife of attempting to poison him and his parents by secretly adding a slow-acting toxin to their tea. The husband stated he installed a hidden camera, which he claims recorded his wife mixing a substance into the tea. This led to a police investigation.

However, the wife, a lab technician, has strongly denied these accusations. She alleges her husband is seeking a divorce to marry another woman and has framed her. She claims he instructed her to add turmeric and cloves to the tea, citing supposed health benefits for his mother, and sent her Instagram videos promoting this practice.

The wife further asserts that their marriage was motivated by greed. She claims her husband demanded a commercial property worth crores from her family after their wedding, which was reportedly funded by her late father with Rs 75 lakh. She also accused him of misrepresenting his employment status and relying on her income.

According to the wife, her husband is involved with a woman in Bengaluru and wants to marry her, with her mother-in-law allegedly supporting this. She believes the poisoning allegations were an attempt to facilitate his second marriage. Disputes led her to return to her parents' home, after which the husband filed for divorce. She has filed counter-complaints against him and his parents for dowry harassment and assault.
