Kalaburagi city has seen a breakthrough in a series of daytime house thefts with the arrest of a suspect by the Ashok Nagar police. The police commissioner announced the apprehension, highlighting the recovery of assets totaling Rs 8.6 lakh. This significant seizure includes gold and silver jewellery, as well as a substantial amount of cash stolen over several incidents.
The burglaries occurred in the Biddapur Colony and New Biddapur Colony areas, with victims including a homemaker and a grocery businessman. The stolen amounts ranged from Rs 80,000 to Rs 4.4 lakh in cash and jewellery. The swift action taken by the police department has brought relief to the affected residents.
A special team, formed under the guidance of senior police officials and led by Ashok Nagar PI Arun Kumar, successfully traced and apprehended the accused. The investigation continues to ensure all stolen property is accounted for and to address any further related criminal activities.
