Jogeshwari Man's Suicide Leads to Abetment Case

On September 19, 2025, a 46-year-old man died by suicide in front of a running train at Jogeshwari, Mumbai. The Govt Railway Police (GRP) has now registered a case of abetment against another individual with whom the victim was embroiled in a property dispute.
The case was registered based on a suicide note left behind by the victim, which was found on a page from his daughter's notebook. The note alleges that the accused was hounding the victim despite the victim having valid documentation of ownership over a property in Nala Sopara. An infrastructure agency had offered the victim money to acquire the property rights, but the accused claimed he was the rightful owner and deserved the compensation.
The police have stated that they will make inquiries about the ownership of the property before making any arrests. The incident occurred ten days ago, and the authorities are still investigating the matter to determine the exact circumstances leading to the tragic suicide.
