In Jharkhand's Khunti district, a shocking double homicide has led to the arrest of a man and his associates for the alleged murder of his estranged wife, Neha Thakur (25), and her relative, Arun Kumar Rana (21). The victims, both from the Lohardaga district, were reportedly abducted following an altercation concerning Neha taking their five-year-old son to her parental home.
Authorities report that the accused, identified as Kundan Pramanik, along with friends Jitendra Singh and Ritesh Chik Badaik, confessed to assaulting the victims with an iron rod and crushing their faces with stones. Their bodies were subsequently discovered beneath a bridge over the Tajna river on July 10.
Further investigations have resulted in the arrest of Kundan's elder brother Madan Pramanik, sister Sita Devi, and brother-in-law Vijay Ranjan Sharma. They are accused of aiding in evidence destruction and failing to report the crime. Police have recovered key evidence, including the vehicle used, an iron rod, mobile phones, and the victim's motorcycle.
