A 19-year-old woman named Chanchal was allegedly shot dead within her residence in Siddheshwar Nagar, Jhansi, on Wednesday. The incident occurred under the Sipri bazaar police station area.
Police officials, including the SSP Vikas Kumar, suspect a young man known to the victim, identified as Kamal, is responsible. He was reportedly distressed by her marriage, which was scheduled for December.
Investigators believe Kamal scaled a wall to enter the house from the rear, committed the crime, and then escaped. Senior police officers have initiated an investigation, forming four specialized teams to track down and arrest the suspect.
