In the Mauranipur area of Jhansi district, a 38-year-old man was fatally shot by two assailants riding a motorbike. The victim, Satish Srivas, was on his two-wheeler when the attackers approached and the pillion rider fired at close range before fleeing the scene.
Srivas was taken to a community health centre and later referred to Jhansi Medical College in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries around midnight. The victim had a history of criminal cases and had recently been released on bail. His mother had previously served as a corporator in the area.
