In a dramatic turn of events on Friday evening, a jewelry shop in Gopalganj district became the scene of a failed robbery attempt. Five criminals on motorcycles stormed the shop, attempting to loot it at gunpoint. However, alert locals quickly gathered, thwarting the heist.
As the crowd grew, the miscreants resorted to firing indiscriminately in an attempt to escape. Tragically, Dablu Mishra, a 28-year-old resident, sustained a fatal bullet injury and died on the spot. During the ensuing chaos, locals managed to apprehend two of the fleeing robbers after their motorcycle stalled.
Enraged by the incident and the loss of life, residents vandalized and set fire to the abandoned motorcycle. Police reported that all five suspects were apprehended within three hours of the incident. Investigations are underway to determine if others were involved.
