Jersey Police Close School Intruder Probe, Outcome Unclear

Jersey Police have completed their inquiry into a report of an unknown man approaching a pupil at Grouville School. Officers stated they "have not been able to confirm or rule out the incident" and that there is "nothing at this stage to suggest any ongoing risk." The alleged event occurred on 2 February when a Year 6 pupil was reportedly approached by a man who claimed to know their mother and offered to pick them up.

Following the report, increased police patrols were implemented, and community leaders met with school officials to reassure parents and pupils. The man was described as white, in his 40s, approximately 5ft 9in tall, bald, and clean-shaven, wearing a black beanie, a navy or black coat, and fluorescent jogging leggings. Police continue to remind islanders, particularly parents and carers, about the importance of teaching children not to engage with strangers and to seek help from a trusted adult if feeling unsafe.
