Summary
- Jemima Goldsmith was fined £1,000 for a speeding offence.
- She failed to respond to police letters within the deadline.
- Home renovations were cited as a reason for delayed response.

Jemima Goldsmith, a television producer and socialite, has been convicted and fined £1,000 for a speeding violation. A Mini Clubman registered in her name was recorded traveling at 46mph in a 40mph zone on the A1 in Hampstead on August 28th of last year.
Goldsmith failed to respond to Metropolitan Police notifications within the required timeframe. She provided the name of the driver, Anthony Reilly, who resides in Switzerland, but her response was submitted six days past the final deadline.
Appearing in court via a Single Justice Procedure, Goldsmith attributed her delayed response to significant renovation work at her Kensington home. She explained that builders had misplaced the initial speeding notification, leading to her unawareness until October.
The magistrate imposed a £1,000 fine, six penalty points on her license, and ordered her to pay £130 in costs and a £400 victim surcharge. Goldsmith also referenced the recent death of her mother, Annabel Goldsmith, in October, stating she was "less on top of things than I am normally."
