In Jaisalmer district, a dispute over livestock straying onto farmland culminated in a fatal incident. Jetharam Meghwal, aged 35, was killed on Thursday when a jeep rammed his motorcycle. This tragic event stemmed from an argument that erupted on Tuesday after Meghwal's cow entered the agricultural field of another villager. Despite efforts to mediate the conflict on Wednesday evening, no resolution was reached, and tensions persisted. The situation escalated on Thursday when Meghwal was allegedly targeted and run over by a jeep. He sustained severe injuries and was initially treated locally before being transferred to Jodhpur, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident has caused significant unrest within Prabhupura Medwa village. Authorities, including the Bhaniana Station House Officer and the Pokaran Deputy Superintendent of Police, responded swiftly. Forensic teams were called to collect evidence from the scene. The deceased's family has filed a formal complaint naming approximately six individuals suspected of involvement in the attack. Police have initiated a search for the accused.
