Jaipur city police successfully dismantled a criminal group accused of systematically targeting temples within multiple police jurisdictions. The operation, executed on Friday, led to the recovery of a significant haul, including nearly 500 grams of stolen silver ornaments, cash, and various religious artifacts.
Authorities confirmed that the apprehended individuals admitted to orchestrating thefts at over six temples. These temples were located under the purview of Khorabisal, Harmada, Bindayaka, Kaladera, and Govindgarh police stations. The gang employed a strategy of conducting surveillance during daylight hours and executing their thefts under the cover of night, breaking locks to abscond with valuables.
The investigation was initiated following a complaint lodged on February 8 at the Khorabisal police station by Ramu Lal Sharma, president of Shri Gwala Baba Seva Samiti. Sharma reported that between 1am and 2am, a group of four thieves had broken into four temples and the main gate in Mansharampura. The stolen items included silver and gold temple umbrellas, crowns, a throne, bowls, a nose ring belonging to Sita Mata, a ceiling fan, and the donation box of a Shiva temple.
